Trade Login

To renew your practising licence in the Trade Login you must:

• update your contact details
• provide information about whether you are a fit and proper person to be issued with a licence
• complete the current CPD course. The CPD page explains how.

To access your Trade Login, enter your 5-digit licence number and password. If you do not know your licence number, contact the licensing team on 0800 743 262. For privacy reasons, the Board cannot release your licence number to third parties.

Multi-factor authentication (MFA) is required when you access your Trade Login. MFA is an extra security check that confirms the person logging in is you, and not someone who has guessed, found or stolen your password. It protects your personal and professional information, even if your password is compromised.

What you need:

• a current mobile number recorded in your Trade Login
• access to the mobile phone linked to your account
• a unique mobile number for each Trade Login account. If your business uses one mobile number for several employee accounts, those accounts need separate mobile numbers.

Trade Login passwords must:

• be 12 to 128 characters long
• include at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, one number and one special character, for example !@#$

Common passwords like "Password123" are blocked. You cannot reuse any of your last five passwords.

If you have forgotten your password, click 'Forgot your password', enter your licence number and the email address saved on your Board profile, and we will send you a link to reset it. If you do not know your email address or licence number, contact the licensing team on 0800 743 262.

Your licence card is virtual and you can present it from the PGDB app. You can order a physical licence card for $4.50 incl GST by selecting the option in your Trade Login.

Licence card design. The back of the card lists your authorisations. The Board's logo design corresponds to the trade. The drainlaying trade appears as a circle. This is intentional and does not relate to specific licences.
